Toolkit Workshop for Teachers & Hospital Managers

Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation into the development planning is one of the objectives of USAID supported GoI-UNDP-Climate Risk Management in Urban Areas through Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation Project. As part of it, UNDP in joint association with the Municipal Corporation of Thiruvananthapuram has organsied two days workshop on “Owner’s/User’s Toolkit for Safe School and Hospital” at Key Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram on 6th & 7th of December 2013. The workshop aimed at providing detailed understanding on “Owners/Users toolkit for safe school and hospital”. The main purpose of the toolkit is to 1) support decision making for construction of new buildings through analysis of issues such as, where the need of a new building is, its required size, site selection, retro maintenance etc. and 2) Ensure safety of existing buildings & facilities
